In this new series of “Cordiario” appointments, I’d like to share some ideas on how to improvise on this famous jazz standard “All of me”.
In this video I propose an example of a solo part on the section A of the tune which consists of 16 bars.
When I improvise, I often find myself thinking of a reference system based on the scale of the reference key of the piece and the shapes of the chords with their arpeggios.
This simple example summarizes some basic concepts of this approach.
