In this month’s “Acoustic Guitar” magazine, August 2018, the complete transcription of my song “Blues in Re” is available from the book “Blues Acustico”.
This tune introduces a very interesting topic that is the use of so-called “open tunings” that change the pitch of one or more strings on the guitar to make more use of the sound of the open strings and prolong the sustain of our instrument .
In this specific case we will use the “Dropped D” tuning, that is, by lowering the sixth string of a tone, from E to D, so as to obtain a very comfortable bass for the blues in Key of D.
